Chimney relining can be nescessary for a number of reasons:
- Following a chimney fire it may be nescessary to have the chimney relined if the liners are damaged. It is important to have a CCTV survey to check the internal of the chimney flue following a chimney fire.
- If smoke is escaping into the room where the fire is lighting or into another room of the property.
- During building renovations chimney lining may be required in older buildings that were built of stone or brick and have had no lining installed originally.
- If the filling around the chimney liners is escaping through cracks and falling into the fireplace/blocking appliance.
- If a new appliance is being installed eg stove, boiler ,cooker the chimney may need to be relined.
- Modern condensing boilers require the chimney to be relined to cope with the extra condensation from these boilers to prevent dampness.
- Prior to a new fieplace installation it is important to check the chimney functions correctly.
